Steve was born and grew up in Walsall, before spending more than 30 years in banking in the UK, Australia and Germany, leading significant divisions for Barclays and for HSBC. He left financial services in 2016 determined to do something completely different and after visiting Surf Snowdonia, embarked on the Emerge Surf journey.

A lifelong interest in surfing frustrated by living away from the ocean, Steve is passionate about the mental and physical benefits of the sport and committed to making surfing more accessible. He’s an International Surfing Association Judge and a lifelong West Bromwich Albion supporter.
